Residential Program Admission Process

The following information describes the process necessary for admission to the Santa Fe Recovery Center’s 30 day residential treatment program.

The first step is a pre-admission screening with the Intake Coordinator. This screening must take place directly with the person wishing to be admitted into our treatment program. The information required for intake is personal and confidential; therefore, it is appropriate and necessary for the person desiring treatment to be the source of the information. Screenings are held at 2052 Galisteo ST, Santa Fe, NM 87505.

The pre-admission screening requires the person interested in treatment services to come to our facility for an interview with our intake coordinator and head nurse. At this time, the person seeking services will be assessed to determine if they meet criteria for our residential program. We offer pre-admission screening walk-in services three days a week.

There is a $10 drug screen charge as part of our pre-admission screening which is due at the time of service. Our walk-in hours are below:

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday
9:00 am – 11:30 am & 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
We are closed for lunch between the hours of 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm.

If you are unable to come into the facility for a pre-admission screening, please call us and we will make our best effort to assist you. However, it will still be necessary to ensure that the individual meets criteria for admission with a urine-analysis and face to face interview with our intake team on the date of admission.

The second step is submission of income and residential documentation to determine fees for services. If the individual has private insurance our billing specialist will call your insurance company for benefit information to determine if your insurance will cover treatment at SFRC. We also have a self-pay rate for individuals paying out of pocket for treatment services. Please call for fees. State and county funding sources are available for clients who do not have private insurance and who meet income eligibility and residency requirements.

The third step is a medical clearance exam along with a TB test completed by your primary care physician. We use our own medical clearance form which will be given to you at your pre-admission screening. We will be happy to fax our form to the physician or clinic of your choice after you provide us with their fax number. This evaluation must be done no more than 72 hours prior to admission.

Please understand that the admission process does take time and that we must have all the necessary information before a bed date is assigned. Once an individual has been cleared for admission, the Intake Coordinator will contact them with admission details.

Santa Fe Recovery Center provides treatment at an affordable rate. We accept most private insurance companies including Presbyterian, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and United Behavioral Health. For individuals who have private insurance, co-pays are due at time of admission. For self-pay clients, half the cost of treatment is due at admission, and the remainder is due at discharge. Payments may be submitted by check, cash, or major credit card. Additional billing arrangements can be made with our billing specialist if needed.
